Walks will be leaving the Project Space in Gallery@49, Broadway Bracknell on Friday 17th and 24th August at 1pm. They will last up to an hour.

These will be slow, gentle walks and offer an opportunity to notice the particular in Bracknell towncentre. Marlies Boydell, the Biodiversity Office from Bracknell Forest Council will accompany us and share some of her knowledge of plants that have been found in the area.

We will go whatever the weather.
All welcome.

The Project Space will be open before and after the walk to share your thoughts and observations.

presencing place: research space

The research space will be open from 6th August to 3rd September

What is the nature of being in our towns and cities?

What brings animals and plants into our towns and what are our relationships with them?

Often we barely notice the animals we inhabit a town with. Whilst some of us risk fines to feed the birds, others of us stick spikes to buildings to disrupt nesting sites.

During August Reading based artist Jo Thomas turns Gallery@49 into a live project and research space through sensing the natural world in Bracknell Town Centre. She will be inhabiting the pedestrian areas close to Gallery@49 and her drawings, maps and other findings will be collected in the Gallery throughout the month.

You are invited to share your thoughts and observations as part of this event by visiting the Gallery on Saturdays the 18th and 25th from 12 to 4 pm.

The research space is also open on Thursdays / Fridays  from 1 – 3pm.
